U. S. President George W. Bush
and First Lady, Laura Bush, were welcomed to Salt Lake City
by the First Presidency of The Church of Jesus Christ of
Latter-day Saints on the opening day of the 2002 Olympic
Winter Games. During their meeting, Church President Gordon
B. Hinckley presented to President and Mrs. Bush personal
genealogies prepared by the Church's Family History Library
and quipped, "He comes from good stock."
Several presidents have visited the headquarters of The
Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
